Film & TV Assistant Editor Crash Course
Film & TV Assistant Editor Crash Course, Become an Assistant Editor and jump start your career in Post Production.
You’ve already put in the hard work…
Signed up for courses, watched hours of Youtube tutorials and even practiced editing with your own material.
You have learned how to edit video. Great!
But…Now you want to get a job in the Film & TV industry, and are coming up short finding anything to edit. Why?
Because you need to start in a position that allows you to gain credibility and trust, and continue learning on the job.
Instead of focussing on yet even more editing techniques, this course will outline and prepare you to be a junior Assistant Editor – the actual job that will help get your career started. In a nutshell, this is not another video editing course.
Being an Assistant Editor is not ‘editing for someone else’. It’s an entirely separate job. And it can be difficult to figure out exactly what you need to become one. Knowing your NLEs – Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X, DaVinci Resolve and especially Avid Media Composer – is important, but simply knowing a tool is different from understanding how you’ll be using it.
This course will set you up to know what will be asked of you day-to-day, so that you can be prepared for any AE job. Included in the course is an Avid Media Composer project template, allowing you to see the organization structure behind a typical live-action project.
While context and a strong foundation is paramount, it can be overwhelming when we’re an hour into a lesson and still going over video codec history. So this course will get you to see the big picture as fast as possible, and allow you to identify and fill in any gaps in technical knowledge quickly.
