Course Description
This course is a Workshop Plan for a workshop that is tailored for art therapy students interested in integrating video journaling into their therapeutic practices. The workshop is designed to be beginner-friendly, focusing on using smartphones for video creation. By the end of this workshop, participants will have a fundamental understanding of video journaling techniques, basic video editing skills, and how to use these tools to enhance their therapeutic practice.
The objectives of the workshop:
- Understand the concept and therapeutic benefits of video journaling.
- Learn basic video recording techniques using smartphones.
- Explore creative ways to express emotions and thoughts through video.
- Gain introductory skills in video editing using simple, accessible apps.
- Create a personal video journal entry as a reflective practice.
The course is in three stages:
Stage 1 : outline of the workshop
Stage 2 : activities to take place as part of the workshop
Stage 3 : specific topics such as Communication, Reflection and Expression; Reflective questions and Emotional Exploration.

This is a short course, allowing you to watch it in 1-2 sittings and then devise your own workshop. you then return to the course and submit suggestions, ask for advice and reflect on what your intended audience want.
