We will download and use Oracle VirtualBox. Oracle VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product is freely available as Open Source Software for enterprise as well as home use.
We will review CentOS Linux vs. Rocky Linux. We will learn the reason for using Rocky Linux.
Rocky Linux is an open source enterprise operating system designed to be 100% bug-for-bug compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Rocky Linux gets all the features of RHEL after they are tested and adopted in RHEL. This guarantees stability and performance in Rocky Linux.
We will learn how to download Rocky Linux. We will download and install minimal version of Rocky Linux.
We will download and use the free version of MobaXterm SSH Client. MobaXterm is your ultimate toolbox for remote computing. In a single Windows application, it provides loads of functions that are tailored for programmers, webmasters, IT administrators and pretty much all users who need to handle their remote jobs in a more simple fashion. MobaXterm provides all the important remote network tools (SSH, X11, RDP, VNC, FTP, MOSH, …) and Unix commands (bash, ls, cat, sed, grep, awk, rsync, …) to Windows desktop, in a single portable exe file which works out of the box.
We will learn how to use dnf for installing Linux packages.
We will learn how to use dnf for updating the system packages.
We will disable Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux) & firewall daemon.
We will discuss about advanced Network Configuration and Network Manager Text User Interface (nmtui) tool. We will use nmtui tool to configure Static IPs and change related network settings.
We will create Cassandra User on Linux OS.
