Course Description
Causes of Angina
What are the main causes of angina/ left sided chest pain.
The most common cause is coronary heart disease.
This is when the arteries that supply your heart muscle with blood and oxygen are narrowed by a fatty substance called plaque.
It means less blood flows to your heart muscle and can cause angina symptoms.
Pneumothorax
What is the most common cause of pneumothorax?
Pneumothorax is air around or outside the lung.
It may result from chest trauma, excess pressure on the lungs or a lung disease, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, cystic fibrosis, tuberculosis or whooping cough. In some cases, the cause is unclear.
Types and causes of Pneoumothorax:
What are the types and causes of pneumothorax?
Overview
- Primary spontaneous pneumothorax: Collapsed lung sometimes happens in people who don’t have other lung problems.
- Secondary spontaneous pneumothorax: Several lung diseases may cause a collapsed lung.
- Injury-related pneumothorax: Injury to the chest can cause collapsed lung.
- What are the two types of pneumothorax?
Pneumothorax is divided to primary and secondary. A primary pneumothorax is considered the one that occurs without an apparent cause and in the absence of significant lung disease. On the other hand secondary pneumothorax occurs in the presence of existing lung pathology.
- Causes of ST elevation on ECG
- MI
- Other pathologies that can cause ST-segment elevations include: myocarditis, pericarditis, stress cardiomyopathy (Takotsubo),
- benign early repolarization,
- Acute vasospasm, spontaneous coronary artery dissection, left bundle branch block, various channelopathies, and electrolyte abnormalities.
